Grandma's Recipe - Butter Tarts
Butter tarts were Grandma's thing. Every Christmas I try to make them but never succeed in making them as good as Grandma did. Maybe this recipe will help.
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup currents or small raisins
butter the size of a walnut
Flavour to taste. Beat until full of bubbles. Drop in lined tart tins and bake in quick oven.
Grandma's Recipe - Toffee Rice Krispie Squares
I tried to recreate this without a recipe and nearly broke a tooth. We didn't even know there was a recipe! This is a Grandma Schmidt special and I can't wait to make it!
1/2 Cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 Cup butter
3 boxes of McIntosh Toffee
7-8 cups Rice Krispies
Melt over low heat. Mix in Rice Krispies. Do not press down too hard.
