Mom's recipe - Beef in Wine Sauce

4 lbs beef, cut into cubes
garlic powder
2 cans condensed mushroom soup
1 envelop onion soup mix
3/4 cup dry sherry
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 bag frozen sliced carrots
Sprinkle meat lightly with garlic powder Put in heavy casserole dish. Mix together remaining ingredients (except carrots) and pour over meat. Mix well, cover and bake at 326F for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Add carrots during the last 20 minutes of cooking.
